Make A Joyful Noise! - Manchester - 16.10.2010

A music day for all...

Saturday 16 October 2010 Manchester Cathedral and nearby venues

9.15am - 4.30pm

A multi-choice workshop day designed to encourage and equip all who want to see music flourish in their church worship.

An opportunity to celebrate the rich diversity of music for worship both old and new and explore fresh approaches in a changing and challenging world.

Designed to encourage and equip all who want to see music flourish in their church worship.

Aimed at local churches with local singers and instrumentalists in mind. The hope is that it will lift people’s vision, encourage their spirits and equip them with some practical skills and insights to make a difference back home.

VENUE: Manchester Cathedral and Visitors’ Centre, and other city centre venues nearby. For a map and directions to the Cathedral, visit www.manchestercathedral.org

COST: £10 for the day (£9 per person if booked by Friday October 1st 2010).

CONCESSIONARY OFFER: One church leader comes free with each group of 5 persons (booked at one time) from one church or benefice.

CHILDREN: This event is for all ages and we welcome every one warmly. To ensure the safety and well being of children and young people at this event, we request that any child and/or young person under the age of 18 is accompanied by a responsible adult, or is part of a group that is led by one or more responsible adults. Should a child or young person attend without a parent or legal guardian, appropriate parental consent should be obtained by the accompanying responsible adult prior to the event.

Due to the nature and geography of this event, it is vital that children and young people under the age of 18 are accompanied by their leaders/responsible adults at all times.

FORMAT: The day offers a choice of eight different workshops in each of the three one-hour slots throughout the day, across a wide variety of church music and worship styles. The day will end with a combined act of worship in the cathedral.

LUNCH: You will need to bring a packed lunch or buy a sandwich from one of the many city-centre outlets. Drinks and light refreshments will be available in the Cathedral over lunch. The Cathedral Visitor Centre also has an excellent restaurant.
